Keethanow Group of Businesses operates several community-based retail operations under the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) including a Food and Supermarket, Gas bar, Lumber and furniture store, Liquidation store, and multiple local grocery outlets. RETAIL INVENTORY MANAGER
Reporting to the General Manager KGB, the Retail Inventory Manager (RIM) is responsible for overseeing procurement, inventory control, and supplier coordination across all KGB retail divisions. This role ensures accurate stock levels, efficient supply chains, and reliable vendor partnerships. This is a permanent full-time position based out of La Ronge, SK.
Key Responsibilities
•Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and forecasting across all retail divisions.
•Establish and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
•Negotiate purchasing agreements and monitor vendor performance.
•Develop and maintain inventory control systems, reports, and procedures across all stores.
•Lead and train store-level staff on receiving, documentation, and inventory accuracy.
•Conduct physical counts and regular reconciliations to ensure 98% accuracy or better.
•Prepare and present monthly inventory reports, shrinkage analysis, and cost variance summaries.
•Implement and enforce loss prevention procedures and safe storage practices.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, environmental requirements, and product handlingstandards.
•Collaborate with the Retail Operations Manager to align stock levels with sales trends, seasonal changes, andpromotional campaigns.
•Assist in contingency planning for supply disruptions, shortages, and emergency operations.
•Train, and motivate store clerks and inventory support staff to maintain accuracy and accountability.
•Promote teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement in all operational areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
•Preferably a Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics Management.•Minimum 3–5 years of experience in inventory, supply chain, or procurement management (retail experience preferred).•A combination of qualification and experience may be considered.•Strong proficiency in Excel, POS systems, and inventory software.•Demonstrated ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend cost-saving initiatives.•Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.•Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and WHMIS standards.•Proven ability to train, mentor, and motivate staff.•Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills.•Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (travel required to community stores).•Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (required as condition of employment).•Understanding of Indigenous business values and community engagement is a strong asset.
